Domain Investor Sues Rob Monster and Associated Entities for Over $1 Million

by Mary

Domain name investor Luigi Marruso has filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington against Rob Monster, the former Epik entity, and Masterbucks LLC, claiming they owe him over $1 million. The legal action was initiated last week.

Marruso’s lawsuit alleges that the defendants operated an escrow service that failed to properly segregate customer funds, resulting in financial losses exceeding $1 million. The suit includes allegations of fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty, and violations under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, among other claims.

The lawsuit features evidence, including emails from Epik’s former CEO, Brian Royce, informing Marruso that his funds were being converted into store credit.

Last year, many of Epik’s assets, including its domain registrar, were sold to a new entity.
