ICA Announces New “Trailblazer Award” to Honor Innovations in Domain Industry

The Internet Commerce Association (ICA) has introduced a new accolade, the ICA Trailblazer Award, to honor individuals and companies that have made groundbreaking contributions to the domain name industry. The award aims to recognize those who have developed particularly innovative products or services with a lasting impact on the sector.

According to the ICA’s nomination guidelines, the award primarily celebrates achievements from the past year but is open to recognizing efforts from any period if they have had enduring influence. While the award is intended to spotlight companies, individual innovators are also eligible for nomination. Importantly, nominees do not need to be members of the ICA.

Nominations for the ICA Trailblazer Award are open until October 31. Following this period, the ICA board will review the submissions before opening the selection process to a vote by the association’s members.

The inaugural Trailblazer Award winner will be revealed at the ICA member meeting scheduled for January 2025. During the same event, the ICA will also present the Lonnie Borck Memorial Award, which honors an individual for their significant contributions to and enhancement of the domain investing community.
