Radix has announced a record-setting performance in its premium domains segment for the first half of 2024, achieving its highest-ever sales revenue. The registry reported a total of $5.16 million in retail revenue from premium domains, surpassing the $4.8 million reported for the second half of 2023 and the $4.64 million from the first half of last year.
The breakdown of revenue for this period shows that $3.83 million was generated from renewals, $1.33 million from new registrations, and $30,000 from platinum (one-off) sales.
The top-performing domain extensions by revenue remained consistent with previous periods: .Tech, .Online, and .Store. However, .Fun experienced a notable rise, securing the fourth position. Radix attributed this surge to increasing interest from web3 companies.
As for registrars, GoDaddy and Namecheap continued to lead the field in premium domain revenue. While Namecheap’s Spaceship registrar has seen significant growth, it currently contributes just 2% of the premium revenue.
