Google Addresses Reports of Removed Audience Targeting Feature

Google Ads users had reported the disappearance of automated audience recommendation capabilities, but Google has clarified no removal is occurring.

The insights tool’s audience suggestions were thought to no longer appear for some advertisers. This led to speculation more manual targeting efforts would be required.

However, in a statement, Google Ads liaison Ginny Marvin confirmed audience insights remain intact. An unspecified issue was acknowledged to temporarily prevent the feature’s display in some accounts.

Previously, the development risked increasing optimization workloads as advertisers lost automated segment guidance. Customized targeting may have seemed incentivized.

No formal reason explained the initially observed alteration. But Google maintains the audience recommendation component continues functioning as normal.

It is working to resolve a technical glitch blamed for intermittent non-appearance. The tool aims to streamline targeting by auto-populating demographic filters.

Advertisers can thus refocus efforts on strategic optimization knowing automated assistance remains available. Google shut down initial speculation of a permanent product change in its clarification.
